Learning about Social Media

About a month ago I attended a HOSB (Hands on Small Business) course here in Orange County. The course was free and Tracey Clark, the speaker, informed us about many things: how to build a free website with Microsoft, what stands behind Kirtsy and what all the buzz is about Social Media. The latter was my favorite. Until then I had used Facebook only for personal matters and I had signed up for a Twitter account, but had never used it before. So when Tracey showed us all her tricks, it definitely captured my attention. So now, about 4 weeks later I am still in the learning process, but I have now set up my Fanpage on Facebook and even posted my first 20 or so tweets. John Jantsch, from Ducttape Marketing has a written a great guide about how to use Social Media for your business. Find it here if you want to learn more.
